Recentally if you been surfing around the web you would have heard about G4tv’s annual Gphoria with the hillarious commericals mocking several companies. Well today G4tv has once again proclaimed Halo 2 as Game of the (last) Year. God of War, Warcraft and Katamari Damacy.
The funny thing about this is even though the voting is still going on G4tv has already desided the winners but encourges you to keep voting.
The PSP browser has been released as an update. The update gives the PSP a number of new functions, including a Web browser and support for AAC files, the audio format used by Apple’s iPod. The 16MB PSP update patch is available for download at Sony’s official Japanese PSP Web site. Sony says that it will work for US PSPs and will auto-translate but they say it is unstable and are not suggesting that you download it (it may cause the system to be unstable). Also sony has made a movie download site/feature for the free downloading of currently 7 movies in Japan. Sony says that it will soon grow to over 100 titles.

Bungie (the people who made Halo) recently released a new patch that would ban cheating Halo 2 on X-box live. The patch is supposed to log you out immedentally when it detects cheating without the other players permission. Recently the ESRB has revoked the M (mature) rating that GTA (Grand Theft Auto: San Andres) origionally had and replaced it with AO (adults only, this means you can’t get this version game anywhere except for P2P networks and the blackmarket) because of the “minigame” (I will not explain it, but if you want to know then watch the news because they like to talk about that stuff) that could be accessed when you hack the game (with an illegal device). The media won the intense battle and Take-Two Interactive (owners of the Rockstar Games company) as a result lost 43% of their stock and lost all chances of selling their game. As of tommorow at 9:00AM all Target, Wal-Mart, GameStop, EBGames, GameFly, Hollywood Video, Fred Meyer and Kmart Stores will quit selling the game forever. If you really want the game then search for it on eBay and/or Amazon. Since this is the media’s fault in the first place for saying it was a bad game (which in translation means “Hey kids go buy this game and your parents will be mad and not want you to”) it’s sort of ironic. This game is one of 19 games that have been released with an AO rating. Take-Two Interactive is also forced to not resell the game. Also, the media focuses on GTA geting AO and not the other 3 games that got AO ratings, too. [updated] This change has cost the game industry $50 million. EA games trys out a “minigame” of their own with their Sims game. Lawyer sees this and tells hillary cliton.
