Halo 2 is coming to the PC, but…you won’t be able to play, until Vista comes out. Because Halo 2 will require the upcoming Windows Vista operating system to play, but it doesn’t require a DirectX 10 card. Also, the PC version will not be able to play with the Xbox version because the PC version will have new maps and a map editor. Halo 2 PC will lose the clan playlist feature from the Xbox version. But with a twist. Clans still function, but players will no longer have a clan rank.
The Xbox 360 is supposed to support webcams because of it’s new update to the live dashboard. But….where is the web cam? According to Microsoft, the webcam will release on September 19. The camera (called Live Vision) is a USB 2.0 peripheral which will be compatible with PCs as well as Xbox360s. No drivers will be required for the webcam to run on either machine. Other Web cams won’t work with the Xbox 360 only the Live Vision cam will. Using the cam you can set the desktop of the 360 dashboard, as well as add effects to pictures. Waving hands in front of the camera when it’s on its “watery” setting will cause the background to “undulate” and ripple as if underwater. Other options include an “edgy” setting and a “dotty” setting.
You can also use the cam to create a personalized visualizer for the music player mode of the 360.
The camera will also be used in several games, like: Activision’s World Series of Poker: Tournament of Champions, Ubisoft’s Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Vegas, and several Xbox Live Arcade games.
Instant Messages will be able to be sent with photos taken from the camera.

But what about the US? The answer: Midway Games (Euro branch). Midway announced that it will be bringing the PSP version to the European market. I assume that Midway US will also release the PSP version to the states. No date has been confirmed for the US or Euro port of the game.

Atari has announced that it’s upcoming game, Test Drive Unlimited, will feature in-game ads. Yippie! The game will connect while you aren’t looking to the internet and download some nice ads for you, using IGA Worldwide Radial in-game advertising network and pull dynamic billboard advertisements to use in the game (and when you aren’t playing either).
Advertisers already signed up to the service, examples include various soft-drink companies and Marc Ecko. These advertisers will be able to beam ads right to your game (and desktop!).
Atari says will “enrich gamers’ experiences” according to Atari, while providing advertisers with online-style feedback on the consumption of their ads.
And yes, the method of putting ads in games has been around for awhile. But this is the first company to use a dynamic ads strategy.
