LOZ: Ocarina of Time is now for the Wii!

Today, LOZ: Ocarina of Time was added to the Wii Virtual Console for 1,000 Wii points. The game is most likely to sell well on the VC, as it’s a good time classic from the N64.

The other games released are Bio-Hazard Battle (1-2 players) from the Sega Genesis for 800 Wii Points and Chew Man Fu (also 1-2 players) from TurboGrafx16 for 600 Wii Points.

If you are a Zelda fan then LOZ: Ocarina of Time for the Wii is a must, however it is a bit expensive but it’s better then bringing out the old N64, right?

Optimization

You may notice that the little thumbnails above are fixed and the load time is *a bit* faster. It’s not as fast as I wanted it to be (thanks to the image effects on the site that GameSpotting! can’t be without). I managed to shred off about 45 seconds of load time in various optimizations of css, js and most of the image files. I also enabled gzip compression, so I hope that’s faster for everyone. Let me know if you experience problems.

Insomniac revealed that the next Ratchet & Clank game will be called “Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction”. And it’s name will fall under the category of the all too common game titles with a subtitle at the end of the title. Just like every other game. Anyway, Insomniac has not revealed any other details other than its name. So, tune in and we will tell you when we find out.

Can’t get away from Live? Do you wish there was a XboxBoy Advance?

Well, there isn’t…at least not any that don’t explode in your hands. But here is an alternative that two serious gamers named Brandon Wirtz and Jake Ludington made their very own Xbox Live enabled car. It’s an Xbox 360, with Live support in a car. Letting you to be able to frag whoever, whenever, where-ever. Pure bliss.

According to Jake’s website he says that they were playing while someone else was driving (this is not recommended for people who can’t multitask or ingore the sounds of a fragfest) around Mountain View California (where there is free Wi-Fi everywhere because it’s provided by our friends at Google). Anyway, their setup is crazy and it would have costed them a bit over $4000 dollars (this is what they predict but they had most of the stuff laying around). Which includes a 23-inch HDTV, an Xbox 360, laptop, Xbox 360 Live Vision, and inverters (for power reasons).

Then they connected the Xbox to the Laptop and used it for internet by hacking the mac address. By the way, Major Nelson (who actually played with them over Live) says “This is not a supported method to use your Xbox 360 or connect to Xbox Live, but kudos to you if you can make it work.” They have a video that shows them playing the Xbox in the car, which you can check out here. Congrats guys for getting noticed by Major Nelson.

Nintendo is release 4 new VC games for the Wii tonight! The best one of course is DK Country for the SNES. Everyone can probably remember that it was ported to atleast 3 other consoles. It’s a great game and probably, the best one on this list.

But here is the whole list from Nintendo:

Donkey Kong Country (Super NES, 1-2 players, 800 Wii Points): Donkey Kong Country is an incredible island adventure, and the first game to feature Donkey Kong’s sidekick, Diddy Kong®. Challenged by the crazed tribe of reptilian Kremlings, the Kongs face their cunning adversaries armed with lightning-quick moves, chest-pounding muscle and awesome aerial acrobatics. The duo also gets help from a host of friends and family, from Funky Kong, Cranky Kong and Candy Kong to Rambi the rhino, Expresso the ostrich, Enguardeâ„¢ the swordfish, Squawks the parrot and Winky the frog. This game has more than 30 levels, plus dozens of hidden caves and secret rooms – more than 100 areas in all. Help the Kongs recover their stolen banana hoard!

The Legend of Kage (NES, 1-2 players, 500 Wii Points): This classic ninja-action game first appeared in arcades in 1985 and became instantly popular. As the Iga ninja named “Kage,” players embark on an action-packed quest as they move toward a magic castle where the Princess “Kiri” is held captive by “Yohshirou Yukikusa.” To stay alive, players move vertically and horizontally through forest and castle environments and execute massive jumps, all the while using throwing-star knives and a sword to take down hordes of enemies.

New Adventure Island (TurboGrafx16, 1 player, 600 Wii Points): On peaceful Adventure Island, the islanders are celebrating the wedding of Master Higgins and Tina, the “Miss Island Queen.” Suddenly, the celebration is interrupted by the appearance of Baron Bronsky and his henchmen, who kidnap Tina and the island children. Master Higgins must set out to rescue the children and his beloved Tina in this side-scrolling action game. Throw hatchets and boomerangs, hop on skateboards and guide Master Higgins safely to the goal in each area. New Adventure Island consists of seven exciting stages. Each stage is split into four areas, with a boss waiting at the end of the final area. Defeat all the bosses and release the kidnapped children. And waiting in the castle of the final stage – the wicked Baron Bronsky. Help Master Higgins defeat him and reclaim his bride.

Streets of Rageâ„¢ (Sega Genesis, 1-2 players, 800 Wii Points): The city was once a happy, peaceful place…until one day, a powerful secret criminal organization took over. This vicious syndicate soon had control of the government and even the police force. The city has become a center of violence and crime where no one is safe. Amid this turmoil, a group of determined young police officers has sworn to clean up the city. Among them are Adam Hunter, Axel Stone and Blaze Fielding. They’ve decided to put their lives on the line and take back their city through their special hand-to-hand combat abilities. They are willing to risk anything, even their lives, on the Streets of Rage.

They come out tonight at 9pm. Check them out!

This is what happens when you want to get all the gamerscore points on a game

The xBot controller addon that is super huge. geez.A guy named David Harr wanted to get all of the possible gamerscore points he can (60?) out of Perfect Dark Zero without actually playing it.

So he took the somewhat easy (not really) way of spending 10 hours building an Xbox 360 bot that actually plays the game for you. That’s right, for you. No interaction needed at all. So it’s this HUGE addon for your controller that presses the B and Start buttons at a certain interval. All you have to do is set up the game once and the bot does the rest.

He layed out the steps it takes on his website:

1: START is pressed at the Match Start screen and the cycle begins.
2: Frag limit is reached, screen auto-returns to player review.
3: B is pressed to return to Match Start screen to repeat the cycle.
4: Goto 1

And got 60 gamerpoints for doing it (you can get way more in Full Auto in just 10 easy minuites. I got 245 gamerscore points within the first 20 min) by having the xBot play Perfect Dark Zero on Xbox matches. The bot has a bit of problems. One being that it actually doesn’t fight very well and dies all the time but dieing does count for your matches count (even though you lose all the time).

David lines out the steps to his automation on his website. And it turns out that the Official Xbox Magazine noticed him! Crazy Delicious.

You can see his xBot fight online on youtube by going here.

Website Problems

Alright, so my website is having problems with the rendering engine. Which is just peachy. Sorry if your feed exploded from all the updates or something. I am trying to fix this problem and it’s a really annoying bug.

Update: Those bugs should be fixed now.

Sony says that the PS3 might get downloadable movies and IPTV

Wow, I think I heard that Microsoft already has put that idea in their Xbox 360. Score one for Sony relatively taking ideas from another company. Anyway, Phil Harrison (head of PS3 gaming stuff), stated in an interview that “we have a hard drive, we have a commerce engine, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out we will have that on the network very shortly.”

Saying basically that it will have movies. And then he hints later that it will have IPTV support.

It’s Valentine’s Day. Have you given a Valentine to your lover? You should, or else you might get dumped. Beware of the dumping! Do NOT dump in this area! No littering (okay, it’s a really bad joke, I get it).

Keep Cool

Nintendo has just added a new channel to your Wiis, that is if you were lucky to actually get one. Plus Nintendo wants to know more about the people who bought one. So it opened the Wii Votes channel, which is like a poll like area where you can vote and say what you think. Topics are currently supported by and made by Nintendo however you can send in your topics for polls that may be used by them in the future.

Questions are seperated by Region and Global. Regional questions are updated every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. While global questions will be potsed twice a month.

Users are also able to see how the majority of voters responded to the question they just answered.

When the poll dates expire, a results pie chart will show the most popular answers were.

So boot up your Wii and check it out, it’s free!
