On his blog, he just announced that of all the accounts the MS Agents went through (which is 6 Million) none of them had any “evidence of any compromise of the security of the Xbox Live Network or Bungie.net”. However he says, that there are traces of malicious users trying to gain user data using Xbox Live, but nothing as severe as the username and password, or credit card.

Major Nelson/Larry states that all is safe, and you can continue to keep using your Live accounts

European Police say that the PS3 launch would be too dangerous at night

In Europe, the PS3 releases in about a day or so (in America time, Europe has about 2 more days until launch). However, launch parties will be different according to the police. The European Police have asked stores to not sell the system at night, and that the official selling time should be sometime in the morning (like 7AM), instead of midnight.

Their reasoning is that the police don’t want to repeat what happened during the US launch of the PS3, with people being shot and robbed or in any way, harmed. But instead of just saying they don’t want to repeat the past, they came up with “[to] guarantee gamers have access to public transport so they can easily and safely transport their consoles home in daylight.” Which sounds like they were asked by Sony to move the time of launch to sometime during daylight.

The cool part is that for those that pre-ordered their consoles will get freebies. Like if you ordered it from GAME, you will be invited to their store at 7AM to have tea and crumpets, as well as Free Sony Stuff. Other stores are offering the first 150 customers who buy the console a free Virtua Tennis 3 (which is good for people to take their PS3 Rage out on [for those people that have that sort of problem]).

And if you didn’t catch the hint, Nintendo is adding Excite Bike to the Wii Virtual Console! YAY! The NES classic is offered for 500 Wii Points.

The other games are Beyond Oasis for the Sega Genesis at the price of 800 Wii Points…
Overall Basis of this game:

You are Prince Ali, who has discovered a buried gold armlet. This armlet once belonged to a wizard who waged a long war against the evil wielder of a silver armlet. The silver armlet was used to create chaos and destruction, while the gold armlet had the power to summon four spirits: the water spirit “Dytto,” the fire spirit “Efreet,” the shadow spirit “Shade,” and the plant spirit “Bow.” To stop the person who first discovered the ancient silver armlet and is again using it for evil, Prince Ali travels the land of Oasis, gradually acquiring the ability to summon the four spirits. Use your wits and speed to claim the silver armlet!

…and SplatterHouse (which sounds like slaughter house) for the TurboGrafx16 at a price of 600 Wii Points. This is one of the first Horror games ever made. Not recommended for children. This was also the first game to get a Parental Advisory Warning, which was like the first ESRB rating.
Description:

Rick and Jennifer, both parapsychology students at the local university, are visiting West Mansion, site of the research lab where the famed Dr. West conducted some of his most gruesome experiments. A sudden storm forces them to find shelter inside the mansion. Once inside, they are attacked by monsters. Jennifer is kidnapped and Rick is knocked unconscious. Hours later, Rick awakes to find himself covered in blood, with the Terror Mask stuck to his face. His only hope is to depend on the ancient powers of the mask to give him the strength and courage to find Jennifer. Now Rick’s fight has begun! Splatter your way through 7 stages of side-scrolling horror action. Armed with cleavers and shotguns, Rick must fight his way through the monsters of West Mansion and defeat the bosses at the end of every stage. The creepy music, gruesome monsters, gory action and shocking events leading up to the finale will keep you on the edge of your seat!

It’s Confirmed, Nintendo had the best sales in February 2007

The NPD has released data that says that Nintendo made 54% of sales in the console market this year, making them the industry leader for February 2007. Their best selling system happened not to be the Wii, but the Nintendo DS with over 485,000 units sold. Second place of best selling console was the Wii with about 335,000 units sold. 10 of Nintendo’s games are apart of this year’s top 20 best selling games (I wonder if they can hold that rank for the rest of the year…who knows?). The best selling Nintendo games for last month are Wii Play, LOZ:Twilight Princess and Diddy Kong Racing DS.

Good job Nintendo! We salute you!

Pokemon Pearl and Diamond will have VOIP compatibility and a total of 480 Pokemon

New Pokemon Box ArtNintendo has released details that the new Pokemon Pearl and Diamond game will have the ability for you to talk to your opponents while battling, in the waiting room, after the battle, and just about any time while you are on Wi-Fi. But in order to talk you need your friend’s Friend Code and they need yours.

This Pokemon game is the first to have all the previous 380 Pokemon from the past PkMn games, plus 100 new Pokemon which brings the total count up to 480 Pokemon. And the cool part? If you own the old GBA Pokemon games, you can import those Pokemon that you caught from the old versions to Pokemon Pearl and Diamod (however to do so you must get an item first).

To seal the deal, Nintendo will throw in a “collectible” stylus (there are two total, each one has one of the Pokemon on the cover of the box) if you pre-order the game after March 18th.

Pokemon Pearl and Diamond come out on April 22nd.

Cool Wii Tricks

I found this forum some 3 months ago that had some Wii tricks. Some of the tricks are quite obvious, others are not so much. Like the fact that you can email anyone’s Wii from around the world, all you have to do is know their friend code. Just send an email to w(friendcode number)@wii.com and it will be delivered to their Wii. How cool! Anyways, you can check out some other ones too by going here. The forum is a bit old, I had it bookmarked but just recently went back to the page again and saw some of these “secrets”.

Vista Live and Xbox Live. Play against Xbox Live players via Vista Live

Microsoft in the past said that Vista Live would only allow people to play same console games. No cross console compatibility. Well today Microsoft retracted that statement and told us that PC users can frag friends on the Xbox 360 via Live. However, there is a catch to this and that is that you both have to have Gold Live Accounts. Of course if you have a Gold Xbox Live account then you automatically have a Gold Vista Live account.

Microsoft released more information about Vista Live’s release (which happens to be May 8th. This is also the day when Halo 2 comes out for Vista) and stated what each membership does with Vista Live.

Silver Membership: As with Xbox Live, the silver membership is free to all users, and you can use the same gamertag with both Xbox Live and Vista Live. You can also have achievements but only for single player. Voice Chat and messaging are included with Vista Live for free. However with Silver you can only play with Vista Users.

Gold Membership: You get all of the above, plus the ability to play against Xbox/Vista Live users. You also get a feature called “TrueSkill” matchmaking, which basically is finding opponents based on their achievements/playing style. You also can also get multiplayer achievements that will save to your profile.

If you want to signup for Vista Live beta click here.
