EA announces the newest title in the Burnout series that I am not so thrilled about, Burnout Paradise. From playing the demo, I was not amused (BAD SIGN!). While I have yet to play the full retail game, I think that it’s too late now and the game might already have been ruined.
But I’ll keep my hopes up, and play the game soon. Though if it’s anything like the demo, it will…fail.
Now all we need is Red and Blue and Sony will be able to show their patriotic colors (Please note: Red and Blue are not PS3 colors and probably never will be).
The FCC today, passed the Sony PS3 White as meeting standards. So if you hate black for some reason, you can always buy white (let’s hope Sony doesn’t bring their horrid ads from Europe to the US). Hang on…. How long ago was this announced? Oh right, in 2006. And just now it’s getting ready for shipping here.
The white version is no different then the black version. It’s only available in 40GB, though.
If you already have Undertow you can contact Xbox Support and they will refund your account with 800MS Points. This offer is only valid with the retribution. See here.
The Walt Disney World park is utilizing a DS game called the Disney Magic Connection to give you real time info on the park (note, this is in beta and probably not available everywhere just yet). Details are vague for now as there hasn’t been an official press release.
From what I have seen, this is a really awesome thing for Disney. Disney Magic Connection shows you the Park Map, where the nearest bathrooms and ATMs are, ride line times, when and where character showings and parades are occurring. It even has a few games and a wishlist (great for making a list of stuff to do while you are at the park). Another cool feature, the app detects when you are on a ride or in the queuing line and goes to sleep automatically.
Unfortunately, the current app is only for Disney handout DSes (I assume it needs a card and can’t be downloaded like a demo) and not your own DS.
You can checkout the guide manual here.
TellTale games, the makers of CSI: Hard Evidence and Sam & Max Episodes, have released a CSI: Hard Evidence demo for the PC on their website. Heads up though: the game is rated M for Mature, but you should already be used to the violence if you have watched CSI before. The game only allows you to play through the first case though, but it should be enough to convince you to buy or not buy the game.
You can download the demo here.
If you are not a CSI fan, you probably won’t find this game very fun. Sorry.
This week’s Virtual Titles include the ADVENTURES OF LOLO 2 and SUPER STREET FIGHTER II: THE NEW CHALLENGERS. The Adventures of Lolo? I hope you saved the receipt.
Anyways, here is Nintendo’s descriptions of the games:
ADVENTURES OF LOLO 2 (NES, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone, 500 Wii Points): Lolo and Lala are back in this sequel to the popular puzzle game THE ADVENTURES OF LOLO. On their return from the Haunted Castle, the Great Devil kidnaps Lala and challenges Lolo to rescue her again. Now he must take on the challenge of the Great Devil’s Tower and Castle mazes. Fortunately, Lala was able to analyze each of the mazes as she was taken to the tower and left clues in the Jewel Boxes in each room. Each Jewel that Lolo collects contains information that will help him in the next room. In order to succeed, he’ll also have to push tiles, pick up Heart Framers, temporarily turn enemies into Eggs with his Magic Shots and ward off enemy attacks by moving Emerald Framers. With your help, Lolo and Lala will work together to escape the Great Devil’s clutches and defeat him.
SUPER STREET FIGHTER II: THE NEW CHALLENGERS (Super NES, 1-2 players, Rated T for Teen – Violence, 800 Wii Points): When SUPER STREET FIGHTER II: THE NEW CHALLENGERS debuted, the fighting-game genre was forever changed. Along with a revolutionary combo system, the game introduced a new set of challengers to fight alongside the original Street Fighter II cast. In addition to the classic characters of Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Guile, Blanka, E. Honda, Zangief, Dhalsim, Balrog, Vega, Sagat and M. Bison, take control of four brand-new characters in exciting head-to-head fighting game play. Choose T. Hawk and his unmatched strength to crush your opponents, use Deejay’s unrivaled kickboxing ability to defeat your opponents, unleash your inner dragon with the furious kung fu of Fei Long and drill your rivals with the deadly beauty of Cammy. Get ready for the Street Fighter tournament and the fight of your life.
EA is attempting to do what Ubisoft did last September, release games for free with advertising. Only difference is that it’s a new game called Battlefield Heroes, and it’s not Ubisoft. The game is primarily online play with matchmaking. Battlefield Heroes looks a lot like Team Fortress 2 in graphics style. But then being a cheap game, did you expect Crysis graphics?
The game also supports “micro-transitions”. In other words, you will have to pay for cool weapons and other addons for the game. Clever…
For now, that’s all we know. EA isn’t telling anyone but the Games For Windows magazine any more details. Battlefield Heroes should release sometime this Summer.
Battlefield Heroes’ website can be found here.
Microsoft has finally announced the game they are giving away for free because of the outages. The game? Undertow, which is a game I previously reviewed here. Like I said in my post talking about what Microsoft is going to do, I predicted it was going to be a game that is already out yet and that some people might already own. Well guess what. I already own Undertow. So I pretty much predicted my future. Hooray for me.
The game is free for Silver and Gold Xbox Live Members. The freeness will happen on Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at 2:00am to Sunday, January 27, 2008.
Only this time by the Dojo!
As we’ve reported in the past, Sheik’s in Brawl. It’s Zelda’s down-move, and they acknowledge that Sheik wasn’t in Twilight Princess. The cooler-looking model is apparently the one they used, “when drafting up the game”. From the Dojo:
Standard Special Move: Needle Storm
Side Special Move: Chain
Up Special Move: Vanish
Down Special Move: Transform
Final Smash: Light Arrow
From December to February, and now to March, Super Smash Bros. Brawl has been delayed again. Nintendo of America says that additional tweaks have caused the finished version to be released on March 9th.
NoA’s official statement was:
“The launch date for Super Smash Bros. Brawl has shifted a few weeks to March 9. The development is taking slightly longer than expected. As we’re sure you have seen on the Dojo site (www.SmashBros.com), the game contains an unprecedented number of characters, options and experiences. Be sure to keep an eye on the Dojo site for the latest information.”
Fortunately, the delay is only a couple of weeks, so we don’t have to wait that long.
News from Microsoft, they “can no longer state the status of Xbox Live”. Really? Sounds like an excuse so they can no longer get sued. The American people have a right to know whether or not the Xbox Live service is down. I mean seriously.
So Major Nelson states this “mum’s the word” status is because of the three geniuses in Texas who are suing Microsoft. Okay, this sounds like a lame excuse. We would like to know if you still are having problems. Though not much is known on the details of the lawsuit, from what is known, it shouldn’t have not made Microsoft stop speaking on Live Outages.
Also, since those three guys are suing Microsoft for about $5 million dollars, I want to see that money go to charities, or to everyone else with Xbox Live Gold Memberships. Everyone experienced this outage. Not just them. They shouldn’t even be suing for money. Microsoft does owe us for this outage, and these three will be taking all the goods. Does this seem fair? I don’t think so. That $5G could be going to fixing Live, or to some poor kids in other countries. Our legal system is so sad.
