If you have patience then you can back it up

Someone has finally cracked it. A user on the Wii Newz forums created an application that can backup Wii Disks to your computer. Downside to the application, is that it is as slow as carmal coming out of those Hershey’s desert jars. It takes 50 hours just to backup one Wii disk and even at that rate, why do it? And you have to have an LG Drive that is a model number, 8164b, 8163b or 8162b. And a program called DVDInfo, as well as the apps from this forum. So if you have patience then you can get a dump of the whole disk. Of course the legality of this method is unknown.
