Nintendo denied from appeal against Anascape, still fighting

Anascape, the company that claims that they “invented” controller buttons (analog buttons on a remote control [which seems to only apply to game companies]), won another suit (filed in 2006) against Nintendo late 2007.

Recently, Nintendo was rejected a request to appeal by the US District Judge of Texas for the above case ruling that would force them to pay $21 million or risk of getting blocked from selling any WaveBirds (the wireless GameCube controllers), regular GameCube controllers and the Wii Classic Controller.

Nintendo is currently taking this to the Federal Circuit court, where they hope they can win.

Yeah, Anascape “claims” they invented these patents, and guess what?? A judge and jury agreed with them! If you know anything about the patent business you would know it takes a lot to get your patents recognized, and it takes even more to go after big companies who say, “screw you and sue us” when they steal your patents. Good for Anascape, and good for the judge for sticking it to Nintendo! Just because you’re bigger, doesn’t mean you can steal other people’s stuff!

However, Texas is actually the hell for all patents. Many patent cases go on there and the victor is always the one with the less cash. The judges seem to rig all the cases there. Anascape isn’t even a real company.
