That’s right kids, after dumping Sony, he goes and joins one of Atari’s main studios. According to the press release, he is going to help make Atari become a “leading online game company”. He will oversee Atari’s studios and internal/external development projects.

“This is the perfect time to join Infogrames and help shape the future of Atari – one of the industry’s legendary brands,” stated Phil. Really now? Was it also the perfect time to leave Sony?

Look how fast he got a new job, in less then a week. From his resignation, it sounded like he was going to take a small break and start working again in maybe a year or two. It’s been 3 days since he left Sony and now he’s going to InfoGrames. Could this be a sign Sony is close to downfall (failing internally) or a sign of hope for Sony to come back into the game market, starting something fresh, and not so crappy (Phil Harrison cursing Atari from it’s already weakened state)?
