Sheik and Ganondorf confirmed for Brawl

In an interview from GameInformer, Eiji Aonuma, who directed Twilight Princess, let go that both Sheik and Ganondorf will be returning for the next iteration in the Smash Bros. series. Zelda had already been confirmed for quite a while, so the fact that Sheik is in it comes at no surprise.

This brings the total number of confirmed characters up to 15 as of writing, not including unlockables.

How can Shiek be in it? They Zelda model they used is the one from Twilight Princess.

I foresee being a character completely separate from Zelda.

The model they used for Zelda means absolutely nothing for the return of Sheik. All that the use of TP models for Link and Zelda confirms is the use of TP models for Link and Zelda. It says nothing about the playability of Sheik and Ganondorf. Since they were already playable, they most likely will still be playable. Any AT claims are therefore stupid and farfetched at best.

Sheik has been confirmed, with a new model, that was made during the creation of Twilight Princess.
Ganondorf will probably be confirmed soon enough with his TP model, unless he is not announced to surprise us in the game as a hidden character, like in Melee.

Finally, I am relieved to hear that Ganondorf will be returning for Brawl. He’s my favorite character to use on SSBM and I kinda already figured he would be coming back for part 3, but now I definitely know he will be. Still, I wonder, just like Link and Zelda, will Ganondorf also be getting his Twilight Princess look as well? I guess I’ll find out about that soon enough.
