Gamers who missed the whole Star Wars thing or think that the Dagobah system is just too far away are in luck. LucasArts today announced a plan to make Jedi training a lot more cost-effective. The company, part of George Lucas’ Lucasfilm Ltd. empire, announced Star Wars Galaxies: The Starter Kit, an introductory pack for the Star Wars Galaxies massively multiplayer online role-playing game universe, for $19.99.

The bundle includes content from the original Star Wars Galaxies (formerly titled Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided), the expansion Star Wars Galaxies: Jump to Lightspeed, and “new material created for the game.” Sony Online Entertainment and LucasArts have completely redesigned the first 30 levels with a “simplified user interface and fast-action combat system.” Players who purchase the Starter Kit will also get a unique X-Wing or TIE fighter and 30 days of free play.

In the game, players cruise through the Star Wars universe as one of several professions, be it a merchant, a Jedi, or a rogue scoundrel.
