Starsiege 2845 = Free (for now)

No I am not saying go get it free on bittorrent. You get it legal this time. FileFront has said today that they will be hosting an Alpha (most likely buggy) version of Starsiege: 2845. It’s a 622.22MB file and it’s from the makers of the origional Tribes game. And if you liked the Tribes games stories then guess what? It’s written by the same guy.

Here are some stats about the game from the site:

• Ground breaking combined arms mecha combat.
• All new story penned by Blake Hutchins, original author for Starsiege and Tribes1/2
• Involving and intricate settings with 3 main playable characters, multiple endings, and a huge cast of supporting characters
• 4 distinct factions, each with its own unique thematic style
• Single Player Campaign with over 20 missions
• Multiplayer includes WAR (Defend and Destroy) and CTF game types.
• 64 player limit for internet based multi play
• Full original musical score, from sweeping classical stylings to pounding techno
• 120 page players manual/compendium in .pdf format will be included
• Player has the ability to customize vehicle configurations, including armor, shields, engines and X amount of additional specialized components to enhance the uniqueness and capabilities of each rig.
