Along with the Wii’s 3.0 firmware update, the Wii Shop Channel went down for about three hours today to add some features, including a new welcome screen, showing the most recent added games, as well as new news. Another update was that you can now search by Genre and Publisher when searching for games, and now, even more useful, by title, which means to find something late in the alphabet, you don’t have to go through a million pages.
Also new is the Recommended Games section, a mix of newly released games and popular games, and the Popular Games section, a list of the most popular games on the Virtual Console (currently, it goes Paper Mario, Super Mario Bros., then Super Mario Bros. 2, Mario Kart 64, Super Mario World, Super Mario 64 for the top six- I have all but the first). Quite a nice update!
