Good News: Nintendo is going to release the DS browser. Allowing DS owners to surf the internet using their DS or DS Lite.
Bad News: It comes in two different versions. One for the DS Lite and one for the DS.
And to make it worse for the people who have the original DS and hate online shopping/want their grandparents (who don’t shop online) to buy it for them, the version you want can only be bought online (however we doubt that will ever be carried out properly). Nintendo didn’t state an exact price, yet we think it would be around $32 dollars (the cost of the browser in Japan). The original DS browser will be available on Nintendo’s own online store, yet the DS Lite one will be available in stores.
This news only brings to mind one of the only other game for the DS that was only sold online, Electroplankton, which was only available through Amazon, the NYC Nintendo Store and the Nintendo Online Store.
The DS browser should release on June 4th.
EA announced today that they will be developing a Wii minigame multipack (like Wario Ware) game. Titled EA Playground, the game will feature many minigames that deal with the motion sensor (in other words, a get up and move around game).
So far the list of games include: dodge ball, RC racing, and a game like Tether ball (ah yes, classic school playground action). Also announced is a version for the DS as well. This game will incorporate the microphone and touch screen in a bunch more minigames.
It should be releasing sometime this fall.
Nintendo’s famous franchise line, Pokemon, is going to have two new games that will release tomorrow in the US. Pearl and Diamond will release tomorrow (4/22) for the Nintendo DS and DS Lite. Last time we checked with Nintendo, the game has had over 500,000 pre-orders, and more coming everyday. So if you are a major Pokemon fan (like some of our readers), you best get out there and grab yourself a copy.
The new Pokemon game features over 400 Pokemon, VOIP so you can talk to friends (if you have their friend code) and for the first time ever for the handheld Pokemon games, 3D graphics (as seen above). And many more features (like digging for treasure, traps, touch screen features, etc) and some classic ones too (like day and night, contests, and secret bases). (more…)
Square Enix, the creators of Final Fantasy, announced that the newest Final Fantasy game, FF XII, will not be exclusive to the PS3. This totally sucks for people who bought a PS3 for the sole purpose of FFXII, as the game is most likely to release for the Wii or the DS as well. We are not sure about either console, but recently Square Enix raved about how great the Wii works and how the DS compliments RPG games. So FF fans who bought a PS3 for Final Fantasy gaming, you could have saved alot more money on Car Insurance by switching to Geico buying a Wii.
Square Enix has not officially announced the other systems, but they probably will soon.
Nintendo has announced that they have 4 more days until Pokemon Pearl and Diamond are released. And be prepared for an outage, as over half a million copies have already been pre-ordered. On last count, the number of preorders was 533,000. Not sure why Nintendo warns us of an outage, as they have over 1.4 million games ready to go on sale.

SEGA has stated today that they will be working on a game for the Wii and the DS that will (for the first time) have Mario and Sonic both in it.
The game is currently being called Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games and is supposed to be released by 4th Quarter of 2007. In the game you will compete in events that one would normally find in the Olympics (but of course this will be provided by Official Sponsers [in other words, be prepared for ads that are for real things]).
Sega announced that Mario, Sonic, Luigi, Knuckles, Yoshi, Tails are guaranteed to be in the game, with more on the way. Sega revealed that the game so far features racing, table tennis (how did that become a sport? It’s more like an activity), and swimming events. However they didn’t list the others (which we assume there will be more). Sega and Nintendo are working with ISM (they have the exclusive rights to Olympic Game related software/entertainment stuff).
So far the game doesn’t seem appealing, but that could all change…right?
The NPD has released data that says that Nintendo made 54% of sales in the console market this year, making them the industry leader for February 2007. Their best selling system happened not to be the Wii, but the Nintendo DS with over 485,000 units sold. Second place of best selling console was the Wii with about 335,000 units sold. 10 of Nintendo’s games are apart of this year’s top 20 best selling games (I wonder if they can hold that rank for the rest of the year…who knows?). The best selling Nintendo games for last month are Wii Play, LOZ:Twilight Princess and Diddy Kong Racing DS.
Good job Nintendo! We salute you!
Digg this!
Nintendo has released details that the new Pokemon Pearl and Diamond game will have the ability for you to talk to your opponents while battling, in the waiting room, after the battle, and just about any time while you are on Wi-Fi. But in order to talk you need your friend’s Friend Code and they need yours.
This Pokemon game is the first to have all the previous 380 Pokemon from the past PkMn games, plus 100 new Pokemon which brings the total count up to 480 Pokemon. And the cool part? If you own the old GBA Pokemon games, you can import those Pokemon that you caught from the old versions to Pokemon Pearl and Diamod (however to do so you must get an item first).
To seal the deal, Nintendo will throw in a “collectible” stylus (there are two total, each one has one of the Pokemon on the cover of the box) if you pre-order the game after March 18th.
Pokemon Pearl and Diamond come out on April 22nd.

While we already knew the new pokemon game would have internet battling with others around the world, Nintendo has confirmed that GameSpy will be the ones providing the connection system. In other words (and less run-on sentence like), the Wii will use the same connection technology as the DS does to play online. While this isn’t a big deal to anyone who really cares, it is to people who can’t connect their DS and play online (DARN YOU PEOPLE WHO LOCK YOUR INTERNET ROUTERS! ….and live near me…!). Some how Nintendo thinks this is a big deal, we don’t. But we decided to let you know anyway.
Recently, GameSpotting! got their hands on the new TMNT Game for the PC, and I gotta say, it’s pretty cool. The cinema scenes and graphics are well done.
In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, it follows the story that the Ninjas split up and become loners. So, it’s up to Leonardo to bring them all back together. Anyways, the game starts about a year or two after Shredder is defeated.
Now you might be wondering why the whole post is not on the front page, this is because of all the images used. If you want to see the rest of the Pre-Review then click the more button at the bottom of this paragraph.

So, we have some screenshots of the new LOZ game coming for the DS. I would have posted them into this post, but that would make this too long.
So instead, here is the listing of all the images, enjoy!
