The Bully Game is canceled for the Xbox

Rockstar has officially stated that the game, Bully, is canceled for the Xbox. The game will only be for the PS2 instead of the xbox as originally planned. This is because developer support for the Xbox has been really really low for awhile and the PS2 would allow them to actually publish the game and make money.

Watch this game cause a lawsuit.

Another one added to the list of hate.

Anascape is suing Nintendo and Microsoft for using controller technologies in their products that were patented. Apparently everyone is suing companies over controller technology.  Nintendo and Microsoft will probably win.

Reservoir Dogs gets banned in the Australia

Australian officials have reported today that the new game, Reservoir Dogs will not release in Australia. The game has been banned from being sold or reviewed in Australia because of the ultra violence. If you thought something like Chronicals of Riddick or Silent Hill 3 or Resident Evil is violent, then you won’t believe how evil the game sounds. According to Australian Rating boards, “Players can take police officers hostage and go on to burn out their eyes with a lit cigar, chop off their fingers with a cigar cutter, and hack off their ears using a scalpel, while [the police officers] plead for their lives and scream in pain”…

Wow. That sounded violent. Watch as every single politician attacks this one. And watch how some stupid parent will buy it and then sue companies that aren’t even involved (reference to the GTA:SA lawsuit where they were suing: Nintendo, and a bunch of other companies that weren’t involved).

carbonEA previewed Need for Speed Carbon at E3 this year and today we learned more about the game.

In the game, players will race as part of a crew in a turf war for the city to gain your rivals’ stomping grounds. But it doesn’t stop there. The Police eventually force the war out into the Canyon area where you continue to fight.

EA is going to finally be serious about customization by giving you new options in Carbon, like the ability to set the configurations of your car, as well as controlling and modifying your crew.

Need for Speed Carbon will be released this November on all current generation systems plus the PS3 and Wii.

Bill Gates is fading out of his full-time role at Microsoft, the software giant that’s been under pressure due to a sagging stock price, competition from Google, and nagging delays in the Vista operating system.

He will officially quit on June 2008 and Microsoft’s chief technical officer Ray Ozzie will immediately assume the title of chief software architect. In addition, chief technical officer Craig Mundie will immediately take the new title of chief research and strategy officer and will assume Gates’ responsibilities for the company’s research and incubation efforts.

Take2 News

Take Two Interactive has announced a $50.2 million dollar loss due to fines for their violent games they released (no names were said though). T2 stock has went down by 17.53 percent which is now currently at $13.74 dollars.

Other news about TT:

Take-Two and 3D Realms are trying to renegotiate the original contract for Duke Nukem Forever, which was originally made in 1997.

Under the original deal, 3D Realms was to receive some $6 million from Take-Two to develop the title. Now, the Texas-based developer will receive only $4,250 for the continuously delayed game, when it is completed (who knows when).

The game is said to be for these systems: PS2, PC, XBOX and maybe XBOX360.

Microsoft wants money

How they want to make it?

Ads.

No surprise really, considering that EA, Atari, and SEGA are all doing it.

So how did this post start up?: A Microsoft general manager brought up that Microsoft wants to be the company that brings  In-Game Advertising Market Profits to the predicted $700 million mark by 2010. So Microsoft plan is to set standards for signs, video, audio, 3D objects, and file formats to be used across multiple games and a variety of platforms. He advocated developing tools that would put the burden of the work on the ad agencies. Not only are they more used to handling the entire creative process end-to-end when working in other media, but it would also resolve other significant issues. For example, with ad agencies handling the grunt work, there wouldn’t be different artists on each development team trying to create 3D models of the car while juggling their regular duties on already-tight schedules.

Basically, sit back and let the advertisers make the all graphics for the game

From the Activision booth.

Activision, which is the nation’s second-biggest third-party publisher had an extensive lineup at this year’s E3, the centerpiece of which mirrored its own corporate lineup.

And right in the middle of the booth was a massive skate ramp, which of course was for their new Tony Hawk game (this will be their 8th). Skaters performed aerial tricks on the ramp to help hype the latest wave of Tony Hawk games.

Surprisingly, Project 8 was present in the booth only as a trailer (no demo?). The only Tony Hawk game that was playable at the booth was the new Tony Hawk’s Downhill Jam for the Wii, DS, and Game Boy Advance this fall, however only the DS version was playable.

Activision’s biggest announcements leading up to E3 was the revelation that it was working on Call of Duty 3 for the PS2, PS3, Wii, Xbox, and Xbox 360.

However, the game was totally absent from the Activision booth (however being the most mentioned title in Activision’s speech), except as a one-sheet poster (horrible marketing idea). The only playable demos for Call of Duty were two new maps that became live on Xbox Live today.

Follow the Rainbow to the Casino

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas, is going to be the next latest game in the counterterrorism franchise from Ubisoft. The shooter was announced in early March, but gameplay details have just recently hit us.

The game will be handled entirely by Ubisoft Montreal, the same studio that worked on previous Rainbow Six games, as well as Far Cry Instincts Predator and the Prince of Persia series.

A new team will be introduced along with a new leader. Each character will have their own specialty, and Ubisoft emphasizes that tactics will play a major role in the game (they have said that before).

Missions will have multiple ways of being completed, and teammates will suggest alternative methods of reaching objectives, including busting through walls or hacking computers. Multiplayer has also been tweaked, with persistent characters and new weapons and achievements to unlock.

While not much more on release of systems and it’s rating is given we assume that the game will be released on the PS3, PS2, and Xbox. We already know it is releasing on the XBOX360 and most likely the PS3.

Tune in for more.

The maker’s snowboarding franchise has been a big hit with almost all video game owners. SSX3 was one of the best ever made. The DS and PSP versions will be released at a later date.
